Sun Siyam Iru Fushi is a 52-acre island in Noonu Atoll, 45 minutes by seaplane from Male, with 221 villas and 15 places to eat and drink. It has just come out of a long refurbishment. The overwater villas were rebuilt inside and given pools, thirty-four more beach villas got pools, and the all-inclusive plan was upgraded to Premium.
What this actually costs
The price shown is the whole villa for the nights on the dropdown, with breakfast, return seaplane transfers and every Maldivian tax already inside. Indian TCS is added separately on the total invoice value.
Seven nights is the sweet spot. At seven the seaplane is free for two people. At four it is half price. Below four you pay it in full, which is why the dropdown starts at four.
Check your dates before you take the entry beach villa. On September and October arrivals the Beach Villa with Pool is still in its pre-refurbishment form, 125 sq m and no pool. From November the same category is the rebuilt villa, 192 sq m with its own pool.
Half board, full board and the Premium All-Inclusive are all available and we price them into your quote rather than hiding them in the headline. Up to two children under fifteen stay, eat and play free when they share with you. Teppanyaki sits outside every plan and Islander's Grill is half price rather than included.
Who this isn’t for
Anyone after a small barefoot island. This is 52 acres, 221 villas and a bar that never shuts, and it is busy by design.
Families with toddlers who want to be over the water. The water villas are not recommended for young children because of the layout, so take a beach category and walk in from the sand.
Snorkellers who need a guarantee. The house reef runs between the main beach and the dive centre and you can swim to it, and guests report reef sharks, stingrays and a lot of fish. Turtles are not reliable here, and the water turns choppy in the windier months.
Before you book
Seaplanes fly in daylight only. Land at Velana before 15:30 and you are on the island the same afternoon. Later than that and you overnight in Male at your own cost, so send us your flight times before you ticket.
Every category takes two adults and two children, or three adults and one child, unless the dropdown says otherwise. The three Retreats are priced for four or six adults and sleep more than that.
Christmas, New Year and the January to mid-April high season are not on the dropdown. We book all of them, we just build the costing by hand.
