It is a big island built for a busy holiday in Noonu Atoll: 221 villas, fifteen places to eat and drink, a bar that never shuts, and clubs for children from three to sixteen. Much of it has just been rebuilt, including the water villas, which now have their own pools.
What you pay
Pick your dates and a villa and the price is the whole stay: the villa with breakfast daily, the return seaplane and every Maldivian tax, green tax included. It is for two people, or four or six adults in the Retreats, whose extra seaplane seats are already in the figure.
The seventh night is where the value sits. Three extra nights in a Water Villa with Pool add less than half again, and turn the half-price seaplane into a free one.
The shoulder dates are kinder than the peak. The same seven nights come in about eight per cent lower.
Half board, full board and the Premium All-Inclusive can all be added to any villa. We price the one you want into your stay.
What's included, and what isn't
In the price: your villa, breakfast daily, the return seaplane for the guests the villa is priced for, and every Maldivian tax including green tax. Up to two children under fifteen stay and eat free when they share your villa.
Not in the price: your international flights, travel insurance, lunch, dinner and drinks unless you add a meal plan, seaplane seats for children, Teppanyaki, spa and excursions, the compulsory Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve dinners, Indian TCS, and anything not named above.
Who this isn't for
Anyone after a small barefoot island. Sun Siyam Iru Fushi has 221 villas and a round-the-clock bar, and it is busy by design.
Toddlers in a water villa. The overwater villas are not recommended for young children because of the layout. Take a beach villa.
Snorkellers who want turtles. The house reef runs between the main beach and the dive centre, and you can swim out to it from the sand. Guests see reef sharks and stingrays, but turtles are not reliable and the water turns choppy in the windier months.
Before you book
The Beach Villa with Pool changes in November. On stays to 31 October it is still the older villa, 125 sq m with no pool. From November it is the rebuilt 192 sq m villa with its own pool. If the pool matters on October dates, ask us before you book.
Seaplanes fly in daylight only. Land at Velana before 15:30 or your first night is in Malé. Send flight details ten days ahead to hold the seats. Going home, a flight before 09:00 means travelling back the afternoon before.
The festive period and a long stretch after it are not priced on this page. Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve carry compulsory gala dinners and nobody checks out on 30 or 31 December. We can still book those dates.
Honeymooners need at least three nights and a marriage certificate dated within the last twelve months. Reflections, the adults-only infinity pool and bar, is for guests sixteen and over.
