The St. Regis Maldives Vommuli sits in Dhaalu Atoll, 45 minutes by seaplane from Velana. Every price on this page is a package: half board, the return seaplane and every Maldivian tax already inside one figure, with a St. Regis butler on every villa. The reef is what guests come back for. From an overwater villa you climb down the ladder and you are in it.

What this actually costs

The figure shown is the whole villa for the nights on the dropdown, at the villa's base occupancy: two adults in the one-bedroom categories, four in the two-bedroom villas. Half board, the shared return seaplane, service charge, tax and green tax are all in it. Indian TCS is added separately on the total invoice value.

Half board here is breakfast and dinner. Dinner is three courses from the a la carte menu at ALBA, and it converts to a credit if you would rather eat somewhere else that night. Lunch is an upgrade and we cost it with the villa.

Two children under twelve stay free and eat free from the children's menu, and their seaplane seats are half price. That is a real number on a family booking, so tell us their ages early.

Two comparisons the dropdown will not make for you. The Beach Villa runs about fourteen thousand rupees above the Overwater Villa on four nights, which is close enough that it comes down to sand or a ladder. And the same villa for the same four nights costs roughly a hundred and ninety thousand rupees more from October than it does now, so September is the value window.

Who this isn't for

This is a small island and a quiet one, built around a spa and a reef rather than a long list of activities. Half board covers breakfast and dinner but not lunch, so a family that eats three meals a day at the resort should budget the upgrade rather than be surprised by it.

Guests are consistent about two things: parts of the beach have coral underfoot and want reef shoes, and the lagoon by the Whale Bar is shallow enough in places to be awkward. Neither spoils the snorkelling, but arrive knowing.

Before you book

Seaplanes fly in daylight only, roughly six in the morning to four in the afternoon. Your international flight has to land at Velana at or before 15:30 or the resort cannot get you across that day, and the night in Male is yours to pay for. Going home, the seaplane only serves flights leaving from 09:00.

Baggage on the seaplane is 30 kg per person including hand luggage, which is tighter than most people pack for two weeks, and excess is charged by the kilo. Expect about two hours at the seaplane terminal.

Honeymoon and anniversary extras need four nights and a marriage certificate dated within the past twelve months. The package runs to 22 December and the resort can withdraw it at short notice, so confirm early rather than late.
