Kuda Villingili is thirty minutes from Velana by speedboat and the boat runs around the clock, so there is no arrival cut-off and no night lost in Malé. Three nights in a Sunrise Beach Villa with Private Pool on half board is ₹316,200 for two.
The package covers the villa, the meal plan, the return speedboat, green tax and every other tax. Nothing is added at the resort and nothing is added by us.
What this actually costs
Pick a villa and a package above and the price is the whole stay for two adults. The single villas are three-night packages; the split stays are two nights plus two, so four. Flights to Malé are not included.
- Travel before October and the same villa is ₹61,700 cheaper. The Sunrise Beach Villa on half board is ₹316,200 to 30 September and ₹377,900 from 1 October. Green season here is surf season, so the cheaper months are the better ones if anyone in the party surfs.
- Overwater barely costs more in the green season. Sunrise Water sits ₹21,600 above Sunrise Beach to 30 September. From October that gap widens to ₹37,000. If the lagoon is the point, book the earlier band.
- The meal-plan step is flat. On the single villas full board adds about ₹30,800 and all-inclusive about ₹61,700, the same in both bands and on every category. Half board already carries a USD 60 per adult credit at MAR-UMI, the overwater Japanese room.
The split stay is the one to price for a honeymoon. Two nights on the beach and two over the water, cheapest at ₹435,900 on half board to 30 September. Two separate three-night packages in those villas would be ₹654,000. Villa allocation is confirmed the day before arrival.
Who this isn’t for
Snorkellers. There is no house reef. The island is man-made and the sea bed carries a lot of rubble, so snorkelling is done by boat rather than off your steps. You get coral patches near the water villas and baby reef sharks at the lagoon edge. If reef swimming is the point of the trip, tell us and we will send you elsewhere.
Anyone wanting quiet in the surf months, too, because May to October brings surfers to Chickens Break. And anyone travelling over the New Year: this package stops on 23 December and festive dates are quoted separately.
Before you book
- Children. Up to 11.99 they stay on existing bedding at no occupancy charge and eat free from the kids’ menu. A teenager of 12 to 17.99 is USD 112 a night, an extra adult 18 and over USD 212 on half board. Occupancy varies by category, so ask before putting four in one villa.
- Everyone in the party has to be on the same meal plan, and the all-inclusive drinks run from 14:00 on arrival day to 12:00 on departure day.
- Three nights and up includes a 60-minute massage per adult, a dolphin or sunset cruise and a photoshoot. All pre-booked, and no refund if weather stops a boat. Honeymoon and anniversary extras are the only benefits that combine with the package.
