The Diwali rate, and the booking window closes 31 August

JW Marriott has put its Diwali Early Bird offer on the India market only. It covers stays from 25 October to 15 November 2026, which puts Diwali on 8 November squarely in the middle of it, and every price below already includes the return seaplane for two and green tax. Four nights in a Beach Pool Villa Sunrise on half board is ₹5,29,200 for two people, all in from Malé.

Bookings have to be made by 31 August 2026. After that this rate is gone and the resort reverts to its standard Q4 pricing, which is materially higher. If your dates are in that window, this is the sheet to book on.

What this actually costs

Figures are the total for two adults for the whole stay, not per night. They include the villa with its private pool, the meal plan shown, return shared seaplane transfers for two and green tax. Flights to Malé are not included.

Children under 12 cost almost nothing here

This is the most useful line on the sheet and it is easy to miss. A child aged 2 to 11.99 pays no accommodation and no meal plan on any board basis. All you pay is their seaplane seat and their green tax: ₹47,700 for four nights, then ₹1,300 a night after that. Infants under two are free outright, seaplane included.

Put that next to the 2-Bedroom Duplex Beach Pool Villa rows and the arithmetic is plain. Two adults on half board for four nights is ₹7,12,300. Add two children and it is ₹8,07,600. The children have cost ₹95,300 between them, on all-inclusive as well as on half board.

We do not see this often. Most Maldives family offers charge a child rate on the meal plan even when the bed is free.

Which meal plan is worth it

The steps are even and easy to reason about. On a four-night stay for two, full board adds roughly ₹79,400 over half board, and all-inclusive adds a further ₹78,200 on top of full board. Per person per night that is about ₹9,900 to add lunch, and about ₹9,800 again to add drinks.

Half board is the honest default if you are a light drinker. It gets you breakfast and dinner and leaves you free to eat lunch where you like. Full board earns its keep on Vagaru because the island is remote and you are not walking off it for a cheaper lunch.

The all-inclusive here is a limited package, and the terms are specific about it. Drinks come by the glass rather than the bottle, except beers, soft drinks and water. Only the listed beverages are covered, with a substitute offered if something runs out. Takeaway drinks to the villa are not allowed, and you cannot buy a round for people who are not on the package. Read that as a fair drinks allowance, not an open bar. If two of you would get through a bottle of wine a night plus cocktails, it pays. If not, take full board.

Which villa, honestly

Beach Pool Villa Sunrise is the value entry and it is only ₹9,500 below the Overwater Pool Villa Sunrise over four nights. That gap is small enough that if you came to the Maldives for an overwater villa, take the overwater villa. The decision is not financial at this end of the table.

Sunrise versus sunset costs ₹26,700 over four nights on the overwater villas and ₹72,800 on the beach villas. Sunset villas give you the evening light from your deck, which is what most honeymooners actually want. Sunrise villas suit early risers and anyone who would rather have the afternoon shade.

Duplex Overwater Pool Villa is ₹65,000 above the standard overwater on four nights. Two levels, more space, and a genuine step up in privacy. Worth it on a longer stay, less so on four nights when you will spend a good part of the trip out of the villa.

The 2-Bedroom Duplex Beach Pool Villa is priced three ways and this matters. Two adults alone in it is ₹7,12,300 on half board. Two adults plus two children is ₹8,07,600. Four adults is ₹9,66,100. Two couples sharing pay ₹4,83,050 each, which is less than either couple would pay for their own Beach Pool Villa Sunrise. If you are travelling as two couples, this is the cheapest way onto this island by a clear margin.

Extra adults, split stays and the small print

An additional adult aged 12 and over in a one-bedroom villa costs ₹2,44,200 for four nights on half board, ₹2,71,000 on full board and ₹3,10,100 on all-inclusive, then ₹44,000, ₹50,700 or ₹60,500 per extra night. Those figures already include their seaplane and green tax.

All occupants of a villa must be on the same meal plan. That is a hard rule on this contract, not a preference.

Split stays across villa categories are priced off the extension-night column with the seaplane added, and they are at the resort's discretion. Ask us before you plan one.

The offer is for new bookings only. You cannot cancel an existing booking and rebook onto it. It does not combine with the standard Early Bird offer, but it does combine with Long Stay, Repeat Guest and the honeymoon benefits.

What comes with the room

Butler service, a welcome amenity of wine or fresh juice with a Maldivian sweets platter, daily turndown, non-motorised water sports, free snorkelling equipment rental, Wi-Fi in the villas and across the island, bicycles for the length of your stay, and a 30-minute photo session with one printed picture, once during the stay.

Honeymooners get a romantic bubble bath, bed decoration, a fruit basket, a honeymoon cake and a bottle of wine. Anniversaries and birthdays get a cake and bed decoration. Each is offered once during the stay, so tell us at the time of booking rather than mentioning it at check-in.

Kids' club access is during operating hours only, which is worth knowing if you were counting on it for a late dinner.

Who this isn't for

Shaviyani is one of the far northern atolls and the seaplane is 55 minutes. That is a long flight by Maldives standards, and it is daylight-only. If your flight lands after 15:00 you will not get to the island that day.

If your dates fall outside 25 October to 15 November, none of these prices apply. If you are booking after 31 August, none of them apply either. And if you want an unlimited bar, read the all-inclusive terms above before you pay the upgrade.

Getting there

A 55-minute shared seaplane from Velana International Airport, daylight hours only, with a last airport arrival of 15:00 to make the same-day connection. A Welcome Ambassador meets guests and walks them through seaplane check-in. Land in the morning if you can. An overnight in Malé costs you a full resort night on a four-night package.
