Geography
Set in the western Himalayas, Himachal Pradesh has an area of 55,780 kilometers. The mountainous state has an elevation that ranges from 350 meters to 6,000 meters above the sea level. Climate

66.52% of the area of Himachal Pradesh is covered by forests and 25.78% of the area is under tree cover. The subtropical forests have vegetation like sal, chir, pine and dry deciduous trees whereas the temperate region is rich in deodar, blue pine, fir and oaks.
Orchards are all over the place in Himachal Pradesh. Flowers like tulips, lilies, roses, marigolds, gladiolus, and chrysanthemums color the mountainous place in happy and bright colors. Leopards, snow leopards, ghoral and musk deer are the major members of the animal world here . The 12 major national parks and sanctuaries will enable you to experience the richness of the fauna.
Major Attractions
Visit the Kullu Valley, also referred to as the Valley of the Gods. You should come here in the month of October. The apple orchards and the ancient temples here are great for paying a visit to.
Chamba is one of the oldest princely states and has medieval temples and great architecture in the buildings that make for a pretty sight. Kangra is a hill town with fabulous locales that are a treat to the eyes. You can enjoy some quiet moments or organize a picnic if you wish at the lush green meadows of Khajjiar. Other major tourist attractions include Shimla, Dalhousie, Manali, and Dharamshala.
Tips
