In yet another laudable move, the Indian Army has recently launched an afforestation drive in the high altitudes of East Sikkim. They planted 6000 saplings, consisting of various species including maple juniper, chinguapin, fir, rhododendron, purple Iris, Strawberry, Jatamansi and Fenugreek. The launch of this green drive was marked by General Officer Commanding of the Black Cat Division, Major General R.S. Chopra. He planted the first sapling in this amazing eco-conscious move.
