Shillong, capital of the northeast Indian State of Meghalaya, celebrated the Orange Festival a few days back. This was done with an aim to popularize the fruit in this region and encourage farmers in the state for cultivating oranges. The festival was organized and hosted by a self-help group.

The Tiger Reserve at Namdapha in Arunachal Pradesh would be watched over by an aircraft. It has been planned that a micro light aircraft would be put on duty to continuously hover over the Namdapha tiger Reserve. This would help the forest staff for surveillance and protection of the tigers in the sanctuary, nestled in the easternmost part of India....
